Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, better known as Blaqbonez, has revealed that he would be comfortable being in an open marriage.
Speaking during a recent appearance on the In My Opinion podcast, the Back in Uni crooner explained that many married couples struggle with reduced intimacy over time because they limit themselves to one partner.
According to him, it is natural for sexual activity to decline as marriage progresses, and he believes couples should not see it as a problem if one partner seeks sexual satisfaction elsewhere — as long as emotional commitment remains intact.
He said, “I don’t mind having an open marriage. Most married couples, you don’t keep having same amount of sex you were having at the beginning. It will reduce.
“If somebody is satisfying her sexually while I’m hustling, touring, I’m not available to be getting intimate with her all the time. That is okay. There’s more to marriage than sex. I don’t mind that you’re sleeping with someone else provided you’re dedicated to me.”
Blaqbonez added that no random person could easily replace the bond he would have with his wife, emphasizing that sex alone is not enough to build or destroy a relationship.
“It will be difficult for a random person to just come and match up with what I have put in there. Nobody is just going to get her sexually and also mentally addicted to them. They probably can’t make her laugh the way I do,” he said.
The rapper further disclosed that if he ever decides to marry, he would prefer that he and his wife have separate rooms, only meeting when they both desire intimacy.
“If I’m even going to get married, I need two rooms. Me and my wife will only meet when we want to have intimacy,” he added.
Blaqbonez is known for his unconventional views on relationships and sexuality, often sparking conversations on social media about modern dating dynamics.
