Following his suspension by the Senate due to his remarks on the alleged padding of the 2024 budget, Senator Ningi has publicly announced his resignation as the chairman of the Northern Senators Forum.
The resignation letter, dated March 11, 2024, was made available shortly after his suspension.
In his letter addressed to the forum, Ningi stated, “I hereby resign from my position as the Chairman of the Northern Senators Forum. This decision is prompted by recent developments in the National Assembly, the North, and the nation as a whole.”
He expressed gratitude to the forum members for entrusting him with the leadership role for the past eight months, acknowledging the forum’s importance in the progress and development of Northern Nigeria.
Senator Abdul Ningi is currently facing a three-month suspension for his claims regarding the padding of the 2024 N28.7 trillion budget.
However, the statement made by Senator Jarigbe remains unresolved, raising questions about its implications.
Nigerians have rallied behind Senator Ningi, applauding him for his commitment to the welfare of the people and his stance as a true patriot.
His resignation from the Northern Senators Forum marks a significant development in the ongoing controversy surrounding the budget padding allegations.
