Following his suspension by the Senate due to his remarks on the alleged padding of the 2024 budget, Senator Ningi has publicly announced his resignation as the chairman of the Northern Senators Forum.

The resignation letter, dated March 11, 2024, was made available shortly after his suspension.

In his letter addressed to the forum, Ningi stated, “I hereby resign from my position as the Chairman of the Northern Senators Forum. This decision is prompted by recent developments in the National Assembly, the North, and the nation as a whole.”

He expressed gratitude to the forum members for entrusting him with the leadership role for the past eight months, acknowledging the forum’s importance in the progress and development of Northern Nigeria.
