Aside from helping Manchester United to a tough 2-1 victory over Chelsea at Old Trafford with his milestone strike, Bruno Fernandes on Saturday night, marked his name out of the club’s history books, becoming only the third midfield player to score 100 goals for the Red Devils.

His long-term partner Sir Bobby Charlton (249) and Paul Scholes (155) are in the 100 club of Manchester United players that Fernandes has caught up with after only three and a half years at the club aged 25, raising the bar once again for spectacular career in front of home fans. Before moving abroad, Bruno Fernandes was already 83 goals in the cloth of Sporting CP, Udinese, Sampdoria, and Novara-wound.

Chris is the one who hit United early through a volley after Chelsea went down to 10 men as goalkeeper Robert Sánchez was called off for holding Bryan Mbeumo back. Casemiro made it 2-0 but got a red on the stroke of halftime which threatened to shift the tide to the visitors.

The late header only added to the dramatic narrative hence Chelsea stayed on the pitch to peak after the torrential downpour revived the fans’ hope but United managed to hold tight and take home three amazing League points finishing Chelsea off with their 13th consecutive home game without a lose in the league against Mancunian rivals.

While stressing the importance of the moment, Fernandes also included the team in his thoughts: “It’s a brilliant time when we are it is a historic club in the world, and I am the one to make it a record, but the most important thing is the victory of the team,” he said.

After a tough period, United’s triumph provides comfort, and Chelsea are still without a win in their last three games.
