Bruno Fernandes was rewarded for an outstanding 2025-26 season with the PFA Men’s Player of the Year award, becoming the first Manchester United player to win the honor since Wayne Rooney in 2010.
Fernandes shattered the Premier League assist record with 21 during the season for the Red Devils, in what was a stellar year for United at the other end of the pitch too. “The FWA Footballer of the Year” award was another honor claimed by his countryman Fernandes this term as well.
The Women’s ‘ Player of the Year’ award went to Manchester City’s Khadija Shaw, who finished the WSL with yet another impressive tally of 21 goals in 22 league appearances.
In becoming the first female player to three successive “Golden Boots”, Bunny helped “City” to the league crown. O’Reilly Wins Youth Award Manchester City’s young prospect, O’Reilly, picked up the award for “Men’s Young Player” of the year, and Arsenal’s Olivia Smith claimed the “Women’s Young Player” award, for the second time in as many seasons. “Premier League Team of the Year”.
Four members of the Arsenal club, David Raya, Gabriel Magalhaes, Saliba and Timber, made it into the combined PFA Premier League Team of the Year squad, alongside United star Bruno Fernandes, Declan Rice, Rayan Cherki, Erling Haaland, Antoine Semenyo, Nico O’Reilly and Igor Thiago.
Hayden Hackney won the Championship Player award, and Crosthwaite took home the award in the inaugural WSL 2 competition.
Ballard and Drinan win League One and Two awards. United’s Dom Ballard and Ipswich’s Aaron Drinan won the awards respectively in League One and League Two.
