The former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Adamu Muazu, received sympathy from the president, Major General Muhammadu (retired), on Sunday for the murder of his brother and kidnapping of his sister by terrorists.
A statement from Buhari headed “President Buhari sympathizes with former PDP National Chairman, Muazu, over the killing of brother, abduction of sister.’ was signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu.
Shehu reported that Buhari said he was startled and outraged by the account of his brother being killed and his sister being kidnapped by bandits.
“This double tragedy is particularly moving. I know it’s hard to cope with the weight of this tragedy in your family. I feel your pain.”
He took the chance to promise the former chairman and other Nigerians who are currently threatened by the crimes of the bandits that he would do everything in his power to guarantee that these enemies of mankind are ultimately and completely vanquished.
He added that security is a continuous worry of his, and he has kept the service chiefs on the ball to make sure they find a definitive way to stop this threat.
“He prayed to God “to forgive the soul of the deceased and grant the family fortitude to overcome this double tragedy.
