President Muhammadu Buhari has called for tighter border policing to help stem the flow of weaponry and terrorism.
He stated that the permeable nature of borders has aided the spread of terrorism, economic sabotage, and the illicit movement of armaments.
The President said this while hosting Dr . Kunio Mikuriya, Secretary General of the World Customs Organization (WCO), who is in Nigeria for the Global Conference on Fragile Borders.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, the President again underlined his commitment to a free and fair general election this month.
