The Former Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has awarded a four-year full scholarship ride to 100 students of Muhammad Kamalud-Deen University, Ilorin, in Kwara State.
Saraki had also awarded projects worth millions of Naira towards the infrastructural development of the institution on Saturday, Novemeber 25 at the formal commissioning of the private university owned by the Ansar-ul-Islam Society of Nigeria.
A statement released by his Press Officer on Local Matters, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir had revealed that N140 million was donated towards the four-year full scholarship of 100 student beneficiaries, while a separate donation of N26 million was made to provide various facilities in the university.
Saraki had said:
“This commissioning is a fantastic project for every son and daughter of the Emirate, not only for the legacy of Sheikh Kamalud-Deen but for what we can do as Ilorin Emirate community.”“It is a project for the society, and that’s why it is our project. That is why I have been playing my role since the program began in 2005 until today.”he further said.
The university was established by the late Sheikh Muhammad Kamalud-Deen Al-Adaby, the first Grand Mufti of Ilorin and the founder of the Ansarul Islam Society of Nigeria.
