Two Bureau De Change operators, Zakari Zadu and Jubrilla Yakubu, had on Wednesday, March 29, been remanded at a correctional center by a Federal High Court in Lagos over a purported fraud of N71m.
The two operators had been remanded after they had pleaded not-guilty plea to a three-count charge of conspiracy, stealing, and fraud charged against them by officers from the Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, CIID (Annex) Alagbon-Ikoyi, Lagos.
Meanwhile, the defendants have pleaded not guilty to the charge, and the prosecutor, Ayodele has asked for a trial date, pleading with the court to remand them till the determination of the charge.
Thereafter, Justice Abimbola Awogboro adjourned the matter until Friday, March 31, for the hearing of the bail, and April 18, for the trial.
