Afrobeats artiste, BurnaBoy, has made history by being the first African artist to hit two billion streams in the UK.
At his sold-out show at Koko Camden in London, he was presented with a Brit plaque in recognition of his remarkable achievement.
This accomplishment comes just weeks after he was honoured with a Brit 1 billion streaming plaque during his sold-out London Stadium performance.
Burna Boy’s message of resilience and fighting for one’s rights rang true as he won the award.
Burna Boy acknowledged that he had to fight for his Brit 2 billion streams plaque upon receiving it.
What they’re saying
He said, “Thank you so much. I appreciate you. Ehen, that’s it. “You have to fight for your rights.”
One of the presenters said , “You already have it.” You do not need to fight. Burna Boy refused: “No.You understand, we have to fight for our rights.”
