The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, had on Sunday, October 15 announced that three persons had perished instantly in an auto crash involving a commercial bus and a truck.
Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the agency’s Permanent Secretary had in a statement said that the incident happened at Gbagada, by Charlie Boy bus stop.
“Following a distress call received at 22:01hrs through the agency’s toll-free lines, LASEMA launched the Lagos State Emergency Response Plans with an arrival time of 22:17hrs; about 16 mins after the distress call was placed.
“Upon arrival of the agency’s LRT at the scene, it was discovered that a white commercial bus had lost control and rammed into a moving truck.”
“The 18-passenger commercial bus, had been loaded to full capacity, and was heading to Ajah from Oshodi when it lost control while in motion, and rammed into a moving truck from behind. Three people had died instantly.”
The deceased persons comprised of two males and a female. All were adults and had immediately lost their lives to the incident, while others sustained different degrees and categories of injuries.” he said.
Dr. Oke-Osanyintolu had also added that out of the seven people injured, three were quickly given pre-hospital care and ferried to Gbagada General Hospital for further treatment by the agency’s health workers.
