Ruben Amorim is looking to get his first hat-trick of wins in the Premier League as Manchester United manager when his team play Brighton & Hove Albion at home on Saturday. However, the Portuguese manager was quick to point out a need for caution following the unexpected 2-1 win at Anfield against Liverpool last weekend.
The victory was Amorim’s first double of league wins since he took over in November and it lifted United to ninth in the Premier League table, giving a small ray of hope to the fans at Old Trafford. Still, the 39-year-old was keen to point out the necessity of keeping their feet on the ground.

“We are riding the good wave of wining games, but that’s already over,” Amorim told the press. “If Cody Gakpo fires the ball 20 centimetres different, the whole story changes. We have to stay calm and focused.”Amorim revealed that he is aware of the pressure that comes with the Red Devils’ hot seat and, especially, during the team’s ups and downs. “At a club like this, if you’re not winning, people start doubting you. We just have to be clear about what we are doing,” he stated.
The United manager also referred to Brighton’s youthful tactician Fabian Hürzeler, ascribing to him the traits of “a big fan” of Amorim’s energetic and well-organized approach. Amorim gave the impression that Harry Maguire and Mason Mount are slight injury concerns while Lisandro Martinez is getting closer to a comeback after his knee injury.
