The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, has repeated its commitment to invigorate youth entrepreneurs to acquire fresh skills and produce micro-enterprises to help boost the country’s economy.
Dr Isa Abdulmumin, the Director of Corporate Communications Department of the CBN, had made this comment at the CBN fair on Friday, July 7, in Bauchi State.
Abdulmumin had also admonished unemployed youths with brilliant business ideas to grab the CBN Agric Small and Medium Enterprises Investment Scheme opportunity so that they can access capital without collateral, to be able to go after their dreams and aspirations.
The Corporate Communications Director had also revealed that the scheme had been created with the knowledge that young people were often finding it difficult to acquire new jobs and set up new businesses to upsurge economic growth.
To this effect, Abdulmumin recapitulated on the commitment of the apex bank to advancing business diversification, through an assemblage of interventions in Nigeria including in agriculture, health production and other fundamental sectors of the economy.
Finally, he had assured citizens that the CBN would persist in delivering on its core directive of ensuring monetary and price stability in the country.
It is not news that most of Nigeria’s graduates have turned to entrepreneurship to be able to put food on the table for themselves and provide for their families, especially as the employment sector in Nigeria is desperately lacking.
Abdulmumin’s initiative seems to be solid, and a needed respite for the Nigerian youths who often shy away from being entrepreneurs due to lack of capital.
