The of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Dr. Isa Abdulmumin, CBN’s acting Director of Corporate Communications has stated that both the old and new notes are now legal tender.
He also confirmed that commercial banks have begun issuing both old and new notes to their clients.
However, he had insisted that the Central Bank was yet to issue an official statement regarding the issue.
Recall that on Monday, some banks nationwide had begun issuing the old Naira notes to customers in response to Supreme Court’s ruling.
