The Chad Petroleum and Energy Minister Djerassem le Bemadjiel has been dismissed, according to the government in a decree on Thursday, October 26. There has nor been an explanation as to why this happened nor has a replacement been appointed as at the time of filing this report.
The government had meanwhile, revealed that Daoud Hamid Dabou was named the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Société des Hydrocarbures du Tchad, the state oil company, effectively replacing Dago Yacouba.
Recall that Chad had earlier this year nationalised all the assets and rights including hydrocarbon permits and exploration and production authorisations that belonged to a subsidiary of Exxon Mobil, after competing for a deal to sell them to Savannah Energy.
