The Blues have revealed a pre-tax loss for the year to June 30, 2025, of £262.4million a record-breaking figure in the history of the Premier League. The amount is way above the prior record of £197.5million which Manchester City held after their 2010/11 season.
The club’s new figures are very much the opposite of the £128.4 million profits posted a year before, largely thanks to the sale of the club’s women’s team to Blueco Midco, a subsidiary of the ownership group, for around £200 million.

During 2024/25, Chelsea have blamed the huge losses on the increase in the level of their operating expenses. In spite of that, the team recorded a turnover of £490.9 million, a figure only the FIFA Club World Cup winners have been able to surpass.
The financial information comes almost on the heels of sanctions from the Premier League when Chelsea confessed breaking rules with £47.5 million in undisclosed payments under former owner Roman Abramovich. The club was fined £10.75 million and given a one-year internal has suspended transfer ban.
Even so, due to the cooperation of Chelsea under Todd Boehly’s ownership, the club was spared the deduction of points. The Blues still meet the Profitability and Sustainability Rules according to the latest reporting cycle’s data.
