Singer Chidinma Ekile, also known as Chidinma, recently shared that she isn’t feeling pressured to get married, despite rumours connecting her to various figures in the entertainment industry, like Flavour and Kizz Daniel. During an interview on Channels Television’s Rubbin’ Minds, the 32-year-old Nigerian artist was asked if she had someone special in mind for settling down, to which she replied, “No, not yet.” Chidinma emphasized that she’s currently not in a relationship and doesn’t feel any urgency to tie the knot. She stated, “No pressure at all, no pressure whatsoever. Whenever the time is right, it would happen.”
Chidinma has faced ongoing speculation about romantic involvement with musicians such as Kizz Daniel and Flavour. These rumors stemmed from interactions, such as a kiss on set with Flavour and appearing together in the 2019 movie ‘Love Me’ with Kizz Daniel. When questioned about these rumors, Chidinma responded with a firm “Nah, Nah.” She chose not to discuss any past relationships with them, asserting that she prefers to maintain privacy about her personal life due to her background.
To handle such rumors and distractions in the music industry, Chidinma employs a strategy of blocking out the noise and focusing on her work. She doesn’t let external influences dictate her actions and believes in staying true to herself. Her approach to fame and temptations involves being authentic and not succumbing to the pressures of imitating others.
Chidinma rose to prominence in 2010 after winning the third season of Project Fame West Africa. She broke records by becoming the first female artist to reach number 1 on the MTV Base Official Naija Top 10 chart with her music video for “Emi Ni Baller.” Her successful musical journey spans over a decade, during which she transitioned to gospel music, revealing her commitment to Christian ministry in May 2021. While some argue that this switch may not have been her best choice, Chidinma remains steadfast in her path and continues to shine in the music world.
