The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has directed in a letter signed by Joseph Bade Daramola ESQ, the General Secretary of CAN, that all Christians in Nigeria should organize a nationwide peaceful protest in respect of the Christian girl that was killed and burnt to death Sokoto.

The Christian association slated the protest to hold on the 22nd of May, 20022 in the afternoon by 3 pm. They encouraged all churches to join as the protest would not be held on the streets but at the CAN secretariat in every state of the nation. This decision was made so that there would be no loss of lives.

CAN direct Christians to hold placards with the inscriptions ‘ WE DEMAND JUSTICE 4 DEBORAH, NO MORE KILLING IN GOD’S NAME, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, POLICE STOP UNPROVOKED KILLINGS IN NIGERIA, CHRISTIANS ARE NOT SECOND CLASS CITIZENS, KILLERS OF DEBORAH MUST BE PROSECUTED, WE CONDEMN RELIGIOUS KILLINGS, WE SAY NO TO ISLAMIC EXTREMIST. ‘

The association also said a big church could be used for this protest. They urged those who could afford traditional media and social media to make use of them to publicize the protest. They also enjoined Christians in the diaspora to join in this protest.

They said the protest could also be used as an occasion ” to pray for Deborah, her family, and friends, peace for the country, victory for the church, and godly political leaders. “
