Nine persons have allegedly lost their lives in a road traffic car crash which happened on Christmas day in Osun State.
According to reports, the accident, had occurred along the Ikirun-Offa highway near Inisa town.
It involved a trailer overloaded with bags of beans and carrying passengers to Edo State from Niger State.
The accident led to nine passengers being killed.
The other seriously wounded passengers were rushed to Orotunde Hospital, Ikirun, for urgent medical attention, while the bodies of the dead passengers were lefr at the hospital’s morgue.
Mr. Adeleke Kehinde, the spokesperson of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCSC had also confirmed the accident.
Adeleke had also revealed that the accident occurred in the early hours of Christmas Day at Yidi Junction, Inisa town.

“One Mitsubishi Canter with plate number MNA606SB NIGER carrying bags of beans from Niger State to Benin Edo State was involved in an accident in the early hours of Monday, 25th of December 2023, which led to the death of nine people out of 12.
“FRSC officers discharged and moved the three wounded passengers to Orotunde Hospital, Ikirun, while the dead were deposited at the hospital’s morgue.”
“The bags of beans and the vehicle involved have been moved to Inisa Police Divisional Headquarters.”
