Most times, we complain about how our phones’ batteries drain or discharge quicker than expected. And it’s common to blame the manufacturers for this problem, meanwhile, the fault is most likely not from the manufacturers.
In this article, we’ll discuss some of the mistakes phone users makes which causes the battery of a device to drain faster.
1. Allowing Your Battery to Get Low Before Charging
Do not wait for your phone’s battery level to get critically low before charging. However, this has been a problem for people who live in areas with unstable electricity. Although the effect of this on a phone’s battery is not immediate, it will begin to manifest over time, thereby reducing its efficiency.
If keeping your phone’s battery level up at all times is a problem, consider getting a power bank.
2. Charging with Phone Case on
This is a common mistake made by phone users that very much affects battery performance. Phones generally emit heat and having your phone case on while charging prevents your phone from receiving the much-needed air to cool off. So, it’s advisable to remove the device’s case while charging to avoid exposing your phone to ambient temperatures. This will prevent your phone from overheating (which drains batteries) while charging.
3. Plugging Any Charger that Fits
Only use recommended charger for your phone. This will help sustain the battery and ensure it last longer. Chargers defer in capacity and voltage, and using a charger with the wrong voltage will ultimately damage the battery.
4. Charging of Phone Overnight
Phones generally need 2-3 hours to fully charge. So if you leave your phone plugged in overnight, it will spend more hours charging, which is not healthy for the battery. Charging your phone battery overnight will over time reduce its efficiency.
