The Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, has disclosed that the just-launched Dangote Petrol Refinery may not lessen the cost of petroleum products in the country.
The NLC President, Joe Ajaero, had made the revelation while speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Wednesday, May 31, on issues regarding the fuel subsidy removal controversy.
Ajaero had noted that while Dangote Refinery was exceptional, it might not be the answer to the issues assaulting the petroleum sector.
The NLC had then gone on to state that President Tinubu should have asked sufficient questions and determined the implications of removing fuel subsidy on the average Nigerian.
Finally, Ajaero highlighted the alternative options to include repairing of the nation’s four refineries, provision of transportation of alternatives for the Nigerian workers, etc.
