The Defense Headquarters said that 81 terrorists had been killed during the previous two weeks in theaters of operations in the Northeast, North Central, and Northwest.
At a biweekly news conference on military operations in Abuja, Maj.-Gen. Musa Danmadami, director of Defence Media Operations (DMO), disclosed the information.
He said that during the time, troops of Operation Hadin Kai working in the Northeast killed 56 Boko Haram and Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) militants, detained 26 suspects, and saved 59 victims.
The DMO stated that during recent operations in Gogore, a hideaway, Damboa, Tumbun Dila, Arege, and nearby communities in the western outskirts of Tumbuns in Borno State, the air component also eliminated numerous hoodlums.
According to Danmadami, 340 terrorists and family members—including 12 adult males, 133 adult females, and 195 children—surrendered to the military at various points.
He claimed that by continuing to restrict criminals’ freedom of movement, the army would maintain dominance in the general areas.
