Paris Saint-Germain’s Ousmane Dembele does not want to win Ballon d’Or The PSG winger has enjoyed a stellar season after winning a number of accolades.
The France international was instrumental during PSG’s historic 2024–25 season, which saw the club claim the UEFA Champions League, Ligue 1, Coupe de France, and the French Super Cup. His performances have raised early talk of Ballon d’Or contention but Dembele maintains personal accolades are far from his mind.
Dembele told PSG’s official website : ‘I remember when I was little, I dreamed of one day being in contention for such a prestigious honour. “It goes without saying that the Ballon d’Or is the ultimate accolade that you can receive as a footballer and I am in awe of France Football and of the great history of football that lies behind this fantastic award,” he said. “But not in a weird way.”
The 27-year-old stressed he wished to entertain supporters and his side. “I like to dribble, to give joy to the stadium, and I also want to score and help my team,” he added. “Everyone has their opinion. If you like Ousmane Dembele, great. If not, life goes on.”
Dembele’s modesty, his unselfish play, have drawn admirers at PSG, and it doesn’t matter how many votes he earns for the Ballon d’Or, the proof of the him is on the field.
