Randy Waldrum, the head coach of Super Falcons, has said that he is assured of his team’s victory even without some certain good players in Friday’s match Against the Copper queens of Zambia.
The nine times title holders will face Zambia to compete in third place at the 2022 Africa Women Cup of Nations which is slated to hold today, at the Stade Mohammed V Casablanca stadium.
The team is to play without Onome Ebi who is the captain of the team, as she suffered a hamstring injury during their match against the Atlass Lionesses of Morocco in the semi-finals and will have to take six weeks off games. The other two Halimat Ayinde and Rasheedat Ajibade were both given red cards in the semi-finals.
“We have two players suspended as a result of red cards in the last game, and we also have some players down with an injury,” Waldrum told a press conference.
“So, there will be changes but we will go for the best legs that would give us victory on Friday.”
We have faith in the remaining players, we know they’ll do their best. Many people didn’t expect that super Falcons will do very well, when Oshoala was automatically ruled out of the game, due to the injury she sustained and was immediately flown to Spain.
