The high-profile sex trafficking trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs took a dramatic turn Wednesday as Manhattan Judge Colleen McMahon dismissed Juror number 8 for providing inconsistent statements during voir dire. Court transcripts reveal the panelist failed to disclose prior knowledge of the 2015 incident involving the music mogul, despite swearing otherwise under oath.
With just one alternate remaining, the dismissal risks further delays in the case alleging Combs facilitated illegal parties with underage participants. Legal analysts note the development favors the defense, as the removed juror had expressed strong views about celebrity accountability during selection.
Attorney Mark Geragos however, immediately moved for dismissal, arguing the juror’s conduct tainted the entire panel. Prosecutors countered that proper remedies were applied, with Judge McMahon denying the motion but warning both sides to “stop jury-shopping through the back door.”
The case continues with opening statements from both legal teams and is expected to conclude by Friday.
