The Badagry Magistrate Court in Lagos State had on Tuesday, May 30, charged an ex-soldier of the Nigerian army to court for impersonation.

According to the prosecutor, Inspector Ayodele Adeodun, on May 11, precisely at the 243 Reece Battalion Barracks of the Nigerian Army, the accused was arrested at the above location, dressed in a military camouflage uniform, fully aware that its illegal for him since he’s been discharged.

The act alone amounts to impersonation, a crime punishable under section 77 of the Criminal law of Lagos State, 2015.

The accused however, has denied the charges, as he pleaded ‘not guilty’ to the Impersonation charge. Thereafter, the accused was granted 50,000 Naira bail with a surety in like sum.

Meanwhile, the case has been adjourned to June 13th.
