Olatunji Disu, an ex-Commander of the Rapid Response Squad, has taken over as the new Commissioner of Police, CP, in Rivers State.
The new CP was came into the office on Wednesday, November 15 to the officers and men of the Command at the state headquarters on Moscow Road, Port Harcourt where he monitored the quarter guard before being shown to his men by the deputy commissioner in charge of operations.
The new police chief then made an unplanned visit to Ahoada East Local Government Area where five people were murdered last week.
The CP has meanwhile charged his men to be tenacious and had given them the assurance that no one will kill any police officer and go scot free.
Disu is taking over from Emeka Nwonyi who was transferred out in circumstances which may have been connected with the disruption incident during which Governor Sim Fubara was teargassed.
