The former Director General of the Presidential Campaign Council, PCC, of the Labour Party, Doyin Okupe, has been arrested at the Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Lagos.
According to Tolu Babaleye, He had been arrested by operatives of the secret police,
the Department of State Services, DSS.
According to Babaleye, the ex-presidential aide was on his way to London for medical treatment at the time of his arrest.
“The reason for the arrest according to a source had said is that he was asked to
produce evidence that the Federal High Court Abuja has freed him from the case in
which he was convicted and paid a fine to the knowledge of everyone and was allowed to go home.”
“When will this harassment stop? Who is after Dr. Doyin Okupe? As of today, the man has no case to answer anywhere, I demand that the DSS should release my client henceforth as the arrest is a violation of his freedom of movement, right to liberty, and dignity of the human person.” Babaleye had said.
