Two people were injured yesterday after a personnel of the Department of State Service reportedly shot at a man at a market in Garki 2 region of Abuja.
According to reports, the woman had invited a DSS operative to approach a tailor she had given fabrics to work on, after having procrastinated on completing the job for a significant amount of time.
In an attempt to avoid being rough handled by the DSS operative, the tailor fled but he was, unfortunately, shot in the leg by a DSS operative. In the course of the shooting, a bullet had also hit a girl in the vicinity.
Thereafter, the other tailors in the market fell on the shooter and severely beat him and the police personnel that attempted to come the aide of the DSS operative.
Following this, the policemen retreated and later came back to the marking, shooting teargas to scatter the angry tailors.
The FCT police command had meanwhile, released a statement explaining that normalcy has been reimposed to the area and that the weapons used during the skirmish have been recovered.
