According to the US Geological Survey, a 6.0-magnitude earthquake rocked the southern Philippines on Tuesday, March 7 the US Geological Survey said.
At the time of filing this report, there has been no recorded case of casualties or major damage.
The shallow quake had struck at about 2:00 pm (06: 00 am GMT), a few kilometers from Maragusan municipality in the gold-mining, mountainous province of Davao de Oro on Mindanao Island.
Although shallow earthquakes tend to lead to great harm than deeper ones, local authorities have said that there were no reports of major damage.
Cherrylyn Dapiton from the Maragusan disaster office has confirmed there had been a landslide near a road, but traffic had not been affected.
The quake which lasted for about 30 seconds was followed by aftershocks, according to Corporal Stephanie Clemen.
