Both the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the United
Nations (UN) have Warned Nigeria against violence in the upcoming general elections.
The two global bodies proceeded to remind Nigerians of the consequences should there be an outbreak of violence while stressing the fact that no other nation in the sub-region could accommodate the nation’s refugees.
According to a Daily Trust report, the warning had been issued in Jos, Plateau State
Capital, by the two global bodies at a mediation training and interactive engagement with the Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC, and other stakeholders.
This is coming after several offices of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, were attacked and burnt across the country with the recent arson occurring in Enugu State on Sunday, 15 January.
