The Edo State Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old man, Friday Bassey, in connection with a stolen vehicle, following a well-coordinated operation by operatives of the Aduwawa Divisional Police Station.
The arrest, which took place on Wednesday, also led to the recovery of the vehicle—a white Toyota Hilux with registration number EDO 757 EA—believed to have been stolen on 14 April 2025 at about 5:50 a.m. from where it was parked along Palace Road, Uteh, off Upper Mission Extension.
Spokesperson for the Command, Moses Yamu, confirmed the development in a statement, noting that the breakthrough was achieved through a painstaking, technical, intelligence-driven operation.
According to the statement, “On 22/04/2025, in a painstaking, technical, intelligence-driven operation, operatives of the Aduwawa Divisional Police Station successfully recovered a white-coloured Toyota Hilux with registration number EDO 757 EA and arrested one Friday Bassey, 30 years old.”
