The University of Benin graduate Glory Adekolure’s alleged killer has been apprehended, according to the Edo State Police Command.
On June 13, 2024, Adekolure was supposed to have gone to school (UNIBEN) to turn in her project, but her corpses were discovered instead.
Her corpses were found nearby, beneath a tree, on a street in Benin City’s Iyowa Community. Fifteen days after Adekolure passed away, the suspect was captured in Asaba, Delta State.
In an interview with Channels Television on Friday, Edo State Commissioner of Police Funsho Adegboye claimed that the suspect had admitted to killing Adekolure and at least eight other young ladies.
What they’re saying
“I am happy to inform the good people of Edo state and Nigeria that the Muderer of Glory Adekolure, a 22-year-old University of Benin final-year has finally been arrested.
“He knew we were after him. However, when our anti-kidnapping and cybercrime squad conducted exhaustive investigations, he was apprehended and admitted to the murders of eight other women who were comparable to Glory.
Adegboye stated that the police are still looking into the event and that the culprit has not yet been paraded.
Bottom Line
The suspect’s alleged admission to multiple murders adds a chilling dimension to the case, emphasizing the urgency of continued efforts to bring justice and prevent further tragedies.
