In less than a week, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s Ilorin Zonal Directorate detained 37 suspected internet fraudsters across Kwara State.
According to a statement issued on Wednesday by the EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, the most recent operation resulted in the arrest of 15 individuals on March 26, 2025, in the Tanke Oke-Odo area of Ilorin.
22 suspects were apprehended during a previous raid on March 22 at multiple sites, including Tanke, Alao Farm Estate, Yidi Road, and Irewolede, the statement continued.
“The arrest of the suspects followed credible intelligence linking them to fraudulent internet activities. Items recovered from them at the point of arrest included eight luxury cars, smartphones, and high-end laptops,” the statement read.
According to the commission, the individuals will be charged in court after the investigations are completed.
