Emefiele in Hot Water: Falana’s Bombshell Exposes CBN’s 3.2 Trillion Naira Dilemma
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on Whatsapp

Uncle Femi Falana is causing quite a stir, and it appears that Mr. Emefiele might be feeling the heat as he’s reportedly cooling off in detention. The revelation comes from the legal heavyweight himself, Femi Falana, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria. He disclosed that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) managed to gather a whopping 3.2 trillion Naira from various sources, but when it came time to replace the old N200, N500, and N100 notes with new ones, the CBN had only printed a meager 402 billion Naira.

Falana’s point is not just about shaking tables; it’s about wielding the law as a weapon against corruption and for the protection of the people’s interests. He emphasized the need to utilize the law for these crucial purposes.

And speaking of shaking tables, Falana isn’t done yet. He believes that the chairpersons of Nigeria’s two top anti-graft agencies, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), shouldn’t come from the same geographical region. If the EFCC’s head is from the north, the ICPC’s leader should hail from the south, he argues. It’s a bold stance considering the current state of affairs.

So, while the situation might look rather daunting for Emefiele, our concern remains low on how he’ll wriggle out of this one!
