The former Manchester United and French international full-back, Patrice Évra has made the announcement that he will take on a new career when he takes to the ring to fight Adam Saleh on the 30th of April.

Evra retired from professional football in 2019, the 5-time Premier League winner have been on series of adventures, dropping hilarious content on the social media space and now, he’s on to a new one with this announcement.

The 40-year-old will be facing the American next month. This is not the first time for the 28-year-old Youtuber as he has been involved in three boxing matches before now.

The fight will take place at the 02 arena in London, and Evra took to his instagram to seek for the support of his UK fans.

He said: “I’ll be needing the support of my London friends and family to win this fight, and it’s not only in London but UK as a whole because its going to be exciting.”

During his playing days, Evra made 273 appearances for Manchester United winning 15 trophies over nine seasons. He left United to play for Juventus for three years, he left for Marseille in 2017 after leaving Turin and ended his career with a brief stint at West Ham. He represented France at five major tournaments, making a total of 81 caps for his country.

Speaking about his upcoming fight, he said: “It’s an exciting moment for me because I have always had alot of respect for all professional boxers, so I’m really happy to compete in a boxing match for the first time. I see boxing as a chess game because it’s not about power or strength but about techniques and strategies.

“I want to have fun and i look forward to their training because it’s different from the way football players train. I’m hoping to adapt to all the techniques involved in their training and challenge myself. It’s a massive chance to challenge myself and I’m really happy to get out of my comfort zone.”

The matchup between Evra and Saleh will be made as one of the undercard fights for the Martyn Ford vs Sajjad Gharibi, tagged as The World’s Scariest Man versus The Iranian Hulk.
