Bruno Fernandes netted a brace as Manchester United were on fire in the second half at Molineux, thrashing Wolves 4-1, and as they move up to sixth place in the Premier League table.
The game saw protests against Wolves’ ownership, and as a consequence, a lot of home fans were late in entering the stadium. United, on the other hand, were quick to cash in on the confusion outside, and Fernandes was able to find the net in the 25th minute after a round Casemiro dispossessed André, and the shot of the Portuguese captain went under the goalkeeper Sam Johnstone.

Wolves couldn’t score for a very long time, and then, just before the break, Jean-Ricner Bellegarde got the ball after a cut-back from David Møller Wolfe and scored to make it a level game. Nevertheless, United responded right after the half-time break. Again, Bruno Fernandes was instrumental as Cunha was the one who set Diogo Dalot free, from where a low cross by the latter was goal-bound and thus, it was Bryan Mbeumo who made the score 3-2 by simply pushing the ball in.
In the 62nd minute, Mason Mount converted a third goal for the home team after a clever chipped pass from Fernandes. The midfielder then confirmed the triumph from the spot after Amad Diallo’s shot hit the arm of Yerson Mosquera.
The win brings United just one point away from the top four of the table, thus they continue their great away run. Wolves, on the other hand, are still at the bottom and will be spending Christmas Day there after losing their eighth consecutive game in the league, which equals the worst losing streak in the club’s history, they have ever experienced.
Manchester United took 27 shots and had an xG of 4.1, showing that they were in total control during the game.
