The Nigerian federal government is presently holding a meeting with the executives of the Nigeria Labour Congress, –NLC, over the ongoing nationwide strike.
According to DAILY POST newspapers, the meeting would hold at the office of the National Security Adviser, NSA.
Those in attendance at the meeting include: the Minister of Labour Simon Bako Lalong, thr Minister of State, Hon. Nkeiruka Onyeajeocha and NSA Nuhu Ribadu.
Also in attendance were labour leaders chaired by the TUC President, Festus Osifo, the NLC Secretary, General Emmanuel Ugboaja and all the other Labour leaders.
This meeting is coming after the NLC and the Trade Union Congress, TUC, announced a nationwide strike, calling for the arrest of the alleged thugs and their supporters.
This comes a few days after the NLC president was assaulted in Owerri, Imo State on November 1 when workers in the state staged a protest over their unpaid salaries.
