After it revoked the permission, it had previously granted to organized labor from using Eagle Square for the 2023 May Day (Workers Day) celebration, the Federal Government has stated that the use of the venue is sacrosanct.
The revalidation of the use of Eagle Square in Abuja by the Nigeria Labour Congress for the yearly May Day parade in the Federal Capital Territory on Monday, May 1 had been announced by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, via a statement signed by the Director of Press and Public Relations at the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, Olajide Oshundun.
Ngige has encouraged all guests, including the President, Vice President, Ministers, diplomatic missions, and international partners, to endeavor to be at the venue, which remains hallowed.
