The Nigerian Federal Government had in a desperate attempt to avert the proposed nationwide strike from the NLC on October 3, has scheduled an emergency meeting with the leaders of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and their Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC).
The emergency meeting will be geld sometime today, Friday, September 29, at Aso Villa, Conference Room of the Office of the Chief of Staff to the President.
According to reports, the government had previously fixed the meeting for 12 pm, but it had eventually been shifted to the evening to enable the Organised Labour to reach out to their leaders outside the FCT.
Sources have claimed that the NLC and its TUC counterpart had received the government’s emergency meeting invitation only this morning through the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
