The representatives of the Federal Government representatives are as at the time of filing this report, meeting with the Trade Union Congress, TUC, at the State House to convene over the removal of fuel subsidies in the country.
This meeting is a follow-up to Wednesday’s meeting with the organized labour which ended in a stalemate.
At that meeting, the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, had ordered the Federal Government to revert to its status quo of reversing the price of fuel before commencing negotiations with the union.
However, in today’s meeting, the federal government’s team was led by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Senator George Akume.
The other dignitaries in attendance include: Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefie; the former Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole; and the Group CEO of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPC Ltd, Mele Kyari and several others.
Meanwhile, the TUC has seven members represented at the meeting and are led by their President, Mr Festus Osifo.
