A section of the Works Department building, Campus 1 of the Delta State college of education was engulfed in fire.
According to some sources, the fire which happened on Christmas day was caused by a burning bush, whoever set it on fire is unknown. The fire spread into the grass of the college building from there the Works Department caught fire and two cars parked outside the building were burnt.
It took the combined efforts of Security officers, staff of the college, and some of the town residents to put the fire out. This happened barely a week after the Vocational building was razed by fire, the management issued a circular banning the burning of bush or other farming activities in and outside the college.
Mr. Simon Fole, the public relations officer of the college has called out to the state government, to assist with the renovation of the buildings that were burnt.
