A Saturday fire at a paints shop in Ilorin had gutted two adjoining residential buildings, destroying properties worth millions of naira in the process.
The fire also destroyed five other shops besides the paint shop.
The spokesman for Kwara Fire Service, Mr. Hassan Adekunle, had remarked that the paint shop had suddenly caught fire and destroyed two residential buildings built beside it.
Meanwhile, the Director of Kwara Fire Service, Mr. Falade Olumuyiwa, had cautioned residents to always switch off electrical appliances while leaving their homes and at bedtime to ward off fire accidents.
