Hon. Bilyaminu Ismail Moriki’s residence has reportedly been gutted by fire in Gusau, the State capital. Hon. Moriki is the Zamfara State House of Assembly and reports say that parts of the residence of the Speaker had been gutted.
This incident had occurred over the weekend and thankfully, no casualty was recorded but valuables worth millions of Naira were ruined.
In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Bello Madaro, the Clerk of the House, Alhaji Mahmud Aliyu, he expressed surprise on behalf of the Assembly and its staff, tagging the incident as an unfortunate calamity.
Alhaji Aliyu went on to describe the fire as an act fated by Allah, and extending his sympathy to the Speaker, his family, and his constituents in Zurmi West.
Several political figures and well-wishers have since the incident, visited the Speaker to offer their condolences.
The Speaker finally expressed gratitude to Allah, saying that no life was lost, with special appreciation to all those who helped to contain the fire.
