Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Adedamola Adefolahan, popularly known as Fireboy DML, has given fans a glimpse into his personal life, describing his dating experiences as “chaotic.”
Speaking on a recent episode of the Reprezent podcast, Fireboy shared that the complexities of romantic relationships in Lagos served as the creative inspiration behind his hit track “Ashawo.”
“In my song ‘Ashawo,’ I was trying to paint a picture of what the dating scene is like in Lagos where I live. It’s a mess,” he said.
Reflecting further on his love life, the Peru crooner added, “It is chaotic. But I thrive with girls. When I’m under pressure, I usually find balance in girls.”
Fireboy, who has previously admitted that he was hoping to experience heartbreak to fuel more emotional and authentic music, has yet to publicly confirm being in a romantic relationship.
