Five Nigerian men and a Bhutanese woman have been apprehended by Gautam Buddha Nagar police for reportedly defrauding more than 200 women on different dating apps.
According to a news report, the police authority which disclosed the arrest on Sunday, March 5 had said the accused were arrested the previous day, March 4, adding that they (the fraudsters) had created fake profiles on the dating apps and befriended women by lying to be plastic surgeons and natives of India.
Meanwhile, the police officials have identified the accused as Okolie Stephen, aged 34, Okolie Prosper, aged 32, Okosindi Michael, aged 23, Umadi Roland, aged 26 and Okolie Daniel – all natives of Delta State, Nigeria, and had been residing in Supertech Eco Village Golf Country of Dankaur police station.
The other woman accused was Kunjangmo, aged 36, who was a native of Trongsa state of Bhutan and had been in the city for the past three months
