Former Militant Leader Slams Deputy Senate President Over Pipeline Surveillance Contract.

Eshanakpe Israel, otherwise known as Akpodoro, the Mayor of Urhoboland and the National Coalition of Niger Delta Ex-Agitators, NCNDE-A National coordinator, has dragged the Deputy President of the Senate in Nigeria, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, before the traditional council of Urhoboland, over a Pipeline Surveillance Contract which was awarded by the Nigerian Government.

The Urhoboland mayor had also petitioned the Senator representing the Delta Central Senatorial District in the red chamber to the Urhobo Progressive Union, UPU, led by Olorogun Moses Tiger.

In Akpodoro’s letter, he had alleged that the senator was not an ex-militant and so, not deserving of the contract he claimed, was awarded to him (Omo-Agege) either through direct means or indirect means. Israel had also noted that the lawmaker hijacked the contract owed him, through his younger brother, Jimmy Omo-Agege, who is the Chief Executive Officer, CEO of Zane Energy.

The letter had then asked for the traditional rulers of Urhobo land and its socio-cultural umbrella body, the UPU, to summon the deputy Senator immediately, and urge him to relinquish the contract to ex-militants of both the Urhobo and Isoko extractions, to him, who has faced insurmountable challenges while protecting the national interests of the Niger Delta region.
