Professor Shuaib AbdulRaheem, former vice-chancellor of the University of Ilorin, has been chosen by the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Kwara State to be their candidate for governor in the 2023 election.
Following a meeting with AbdulRaheem on Monday, the state chairman of the NNPP, Alhaji AbdulRazaq Abdulsalam, made this announcement in the state capital of Ilorin.
“We have picked Professor Oba Shuaib Abdulraheem as our governorship candidate. He’s now a full-fledged member of NNPP,” the chairman declared.
The chairman, Abdulsalam revealed that AbdulRaheem would be present at the gathering of all the NNPP candidates for governor on Tuesday in Abuja (today).
The NNPP’s candidate for governor position also spoke, declaring his entire NNPP membership.
He indicated his willingness to work with other prominent Nigerians and the residents of the state to advance the party.
Dr. Kolo Jiya, an NNPP candidate for the House of Representatives, declared in his remarks that the party would take power in Kwara State.
He expressed confidence in AbdulRaheem’s capacity to guide the party to electoral success and put Kwara back on the path to glory and growth.
The party’s gubernatorial candidate would be introduced to the entire public at a more formal occasion, Kolo continued.
