In recent days, filling stations in Abuja and several states, including Nasarawa, Gombe, and Anambra, have witnessed long queues as a result of the scarcity of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has attributed the current fuel shortage to logistics issues.
The scarcity has not only led to queues but has also caused a surge in the price of petrol, resulting in increased transport fares and leaving many commuters stranded in affected states.

While there have been reports attributing the scarcity to fuel shortages, the NNPC Ltd. clarified in a statement signed by its Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, that the tight supply of PMS in some areas is due to logistics challenges, which have since been resolved. The NNPC Ltd. emphasized that there will be no changes in the prices of petroleum products and urged Nigerians to refrain from panic buying, assuring the public of sufficient product availability in the country.
