Just nine days after the Kerosene fuel tanker exploded in the Ore-Benin Expressway at Ore, Odigbo L.G.A Ondo state, a fuel tanker carrying fuel also exploded in that same area on Wednesday.
Mr. Sikiru Alonge the Unit commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Ore confirmed the incident and said that the driver of the tanker successfully escaped any hurt.
He further said that the cause of the incident was due to burst of a tire, as this made the tanker overturn and spill its contents on the road which eventually led to the fire incident.
Fortunately, he confirmed that no one died from the incident, and are currently working with the Fire station in Ondo state to put out the fire, since there’s no fire station in Ore
“The explosion occurred because of a burst tire. This made the tanker wobble and spill its content on the road leading to flames and later, the explosion.
“There is no loss of life in the incident. We are collaborating with the Fire Station in Ondo town to help to put out the fire since there is no fire service station in Ore.”
It is pertinent that every part of a vehicle is checked before it enters the road, as it is a lethal weapon that can kill and cause damage.
