Nollywood actress and producer Funke Akindele has issued a strong appeal to her United Kingdom audience, urging them to refrain from uploading clips from her newly released film, Behind the Scenes, across social media platforms.
The movie had its international premiere on December 4 at the Odeon Cinemas in Greenwich, UK, where it attracted considerable buzz.
But with the Nigerian release slated for December 12, Akindele expressed concern that leaked footage circulating online could hurt the film’s performance at home.

In a video message shared with fans, she pleaded for cooperation and support for the filmmaking team, noting that posting unauthorised content does more harm than good. She said viewers should “please stop posting online” because it does not promote the work.
Akindele also highlighted the massive budget behind the production, explaining that the team invested over a billion naira. She warned that recording and distributing clips amounts to piracy and could lead to huge financial losses.
Her appeal has sparked a wave of support, with many fans urging others to respect the effort put into the project and to wait for the official Nigerian debut before sharing any content.
